Robert I. Garver, MD is a native of San Francisco, California. Dr. Garver completed his B.A. in Biology at Boston University, and his M.D. at Johns Hopkins University. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and subsequently his fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, MD. He joined the Pulmonary Division at UAB where he focused on thoracic oncology and became Professor of Medicine. More recently, he completed a Critical Care Medicine fellowship at UAB while continuing his faculty duties. This recent experience rekindled his interest in hands-on patient care. Although he will continue performing some part-time teaching duties at UAB, Dr. Garver is thrilled to be joining Pulmonary Associates where he will devote the majority of his professional effort.
