During a stress test, the patient is monitored while walking on a treadmill. A Pulmonary Associates' Lab Tech will monitor the patient’s heart rate, oxygen saturation and blood pressure. The test is designed to detect any abnormalities of the heart or the lungs. The time it takes a patient to complete the stress test varies among individuals.
