Bone Densitometry
This test is designed to measure the level of bone mineral density in certain bones in a patient’s body. The results of the test are measured against normal values for others in the same age and sex bracket to determine if the patient is at risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is easily treated. Failure to treat the disease may lead to bone fractures and lowered quality of life. Patients that receive medications for pulmonary disease may be at a much higher risk for osteoporosis, which is why Pulmonary Associates offers this testing.
